Eight HC-One Colleagues and teams from care homes and support functions across Scotland have been shortlisted as finalists by the judging panel at the Great British Care Awards 2022, Regional Awards for Scotland.
The highly esteemed awards celebrate excellence from across the sector, paying tribute to those who have shown outstanding commitment and dedication within their field of work. From frontline Colleagues including care home workers and care managers to those who have demonstrated meaningful impacts in other ways including innovation and training.
HC-One’s finalists for the Great British Care Awards 2022, Regional Awards for Scotland are:
• Elise (Ellie) Harris, Care Assistant at Blar Buidhe Care Home, finalist in The Care Newcomer Award Category
• The Care Team at Balcarres Care Home, finalists in The Care Team Award Category
• The Care Team at The Birches Care Home, finalists in The Care Team Award Category
• Vera Scrimgeour, Deputy Home Manager at Balcarres Care Home, finalist in The Frontline Leader Award Category
• Simon Riggs, Head Chef at Chapel Level Care Home, finalist in The Care Home Cook/Chef Award Category
• HC-One’s Operational Learning & Development Team for Scotland - Adam McGurn, Michelle Taylor and John Thomson, finalists in The Workforce Development Award Category
• Anne Stewart, Home Administrator at Blar Buidhe Care Home, finalist in the Outstanding Contribution to Social Care Award Category
• Caledonian Korsakoff Unit Team at Hillside View Care Home, finalists in the Putting People First Award Category

The Great British Care Awards consist of 23 awards, which cover a wide range of areas of the social care sector. The awards are a series of regional events throughout the UK and are a celebration of distinction across the care sector. The awards pay tribute to those who have demonstrated outstanding excellence within their area of work. The award ceremony of the Great British Care Awards 2022, Regional Awards for Scotland takes place at the Grand Hotel Gosforth Park, Newcastle on 10th November 2022 when the winners will be announced. Successful winners of the regional awards for Scotland will progress to the national finals of the Great British Care Awards 2023 taking place on Friday 17th March 2023 at the ICC in Birmingham.
