HC-One’s Head of Quality of Life shares wisdom about wellbeing on Australian podcastRobi Roccella, Head of Quality at care provider HC-One was invited to be a guest speaker on an Australian podcast Aged Care Enrichment (ACE) with host Ashley de Neef, produced by SilVR Adventures, which was pre-recorded in September and released on Tuesday 24th November.
 
On the podcast, Robi discusses how herself and her team have supported the quality of life of Residents and how Colleagues across the business have adapted to the challenges they have faced during the coronavirus pandemic. Robi goes into detail to share some of the trials that have come to the forefront during the pandemic of having a large number of facilities in different regions with HC-One having over 300 care homes across the UK, as well as some of the positive aspects that have been highlighted, and affected Carers.
 
The Italian native has revolutionised HC-One’s approach to wellbeing in over 300 HC-One care homes across the UK after joining in 2019. She has brought many HC-One wellbeing and dementia-friendly initiatives to life, including HC-One’s dementia support programme, Harmony, and overseen the implementation of challenging and innovative projects designed to improve people’s quality of life, whilst often managing culture change on a large scale.
Robi has galvanised the Colleagues across HC-One homes and seen thousands of Residents engaging in and benefitting from structured wellbeing activities. Her personal mission is to make the lives of those around her better and this is backed up by her unwavering commitment to enable others to have the tools, resources and support to do their jobs to the best of their ability.
Prior to joining HC-One, Robi set up an advocacy project in Wakefield for Mencap for people with profound disabilities, where she worked for five years and received recognition by the Countess of Wessex for her forward-thinking and being the driving force of an innovative project. Robi has also held a number of Local Authority roles as well as working for Four Seasons Healthcare as Head of Quality, Head of Quality and Governance and then Head of Care Projects.

SilVR Adventures aims to tackle isolation and loneliness amongst the elderly community, whilst helping to drive and facilitate social engagement and connections through shared experiences in virtual reality, creating more connections and less barriers as well as embracing diversity and identity. The podcast is released every fortnight and invites care industry experts, passionate individuals and thought leaders to share their experience and knowledge with others, as they look to improve the quality of care and life of elderly individuals.
