HC-One enjoy Summer Celebrations for Care Home Open Week 2022HC-One care homes across the UK are delighted to be welcoming their local communities to join them in celebrating Care Home Open Week from 27th June to 3rd July 2022.

Care Home Open Week is a national event hosted by Championing Social Care, designed to connect care homes with their local communities. After having to celebrate the week virtually during the COVID-19 pandemic, Residents and Colleagues in HC-One’s homes are looking forward to opening their doors once again to celebrate the week together with friends, family and people from the local areas they serve.

HC-One’s chosen theme for this year’s Care Home Open Week celebrations is ‘Summer Celebration’. Throughout the week the homes will enjoy a variety of fun-filled activities which will culminate in an end-of-week celebration.

On Friday 1st July 2022, HC-One homes will open their doors, where possible and safe to do so, to host a celebration party for Residents, Relatives, the local community, HC-One’s central support-based Colleagues, Local Authority Commissioners, and local dignitaries.

Each home will have their own individual personalised plans in place for the day, ranging from a summer bake-off, summer fete, arts and crafts, music and entertainment, BBQ, buffet, afternoon tea and a variety of other activities.

Care Home Open Week will provide HC-One care homes with the opportunity to come together as a community and introduce new visitors to the activities and services Residents enjoy, as well as to remind their neighbours that they are there if they need support.

Visitors to the home will also have the chance to learn about career and community engagement opportunities at HC-One care homes and across the sector.

If you are interested in getting involved and/or would like to attend one of our care homes’ Care Home Open Week celebrations, please contact our friendly and professional Careline Team on 0333 999 8699 for further information.

James Tugendhat, HC-One’s Chief Executive Officer, said,

“We are delighted to be able to bring everyone together to celebrate Care Home Open Week 2022 in person again this year.

“After facing unprecedented and challenging times over the past couple of years, which has seen visiting restricted in our care homes, Care Home Open Week provides a great opportunity to reconnect our Residents and homes with their local community to encourage greater community engagement; for our homes to showcase their facilities, activities and services they have to offer as well as to help people to understand more about what a rewarding career in care looks like, which will help support our mission to be the first-choice care provider in each of the communities that we serve.”

Please note: Visits to our care homes for Care Home Open Week will be conducted following all appropriate infection prevention and control measures, which we will discuss with visitors ahead of their visit to the home and visitors (excluding Relatives) will be required to show proof of vaccination ahead of the visit. Visits to our care homes for Care Home Open Week are subject to change depending on the local COIVD-19 situation, changes in local and national Government guidance or restrictions, and the situation in the care home itself. We will continue to keep our policies under review and provide updates accordingly should we need to cancel or postpone the event.
