HC-One triumphs as four colleagues shortlisted for National Care Award

HC-One, the leading provider of residential, nursing and memory care services, is celebrating the success of four talented colleagues who have been shortlisted across a range of categories in the 21st National Care Awards.

The National Care Awards, organised by Caring Times, is the longest established Annual Awards in the care industry, and celebrates the finest talent in the sector. HC-One is thrilled to have four of their hard-working employees recognised for their outstanding contribution to the care industry.

The shortlist spans across four categories, with Chief Executive Justin Hutchens shortlisted for the prestigious Care Personality award, having harnessed years of expertise in health and social care across both sides of the Atlantic to help HC-One grow and flourish to its position as the leading care home provider in the UK today.

Resourcing expert Lucy Connolly has been shortlisted for the Care HR Director award thanks to the way she has transformed recruitment at HC-One. Thanks to her HR expertise as well as sheer determination and innovative thinking, Lucy has lead the reduction of employee turnover and Home Manager vacancy rates across the company ensuring HC-One is the first choice care provider for those aspiring to work in the sector.

The third shortlisted candidate is Julie Doyle, Housekeeper at Barton Brook. Julie is the ultimate team player, driving and supporting her team at the home to deliver their best standard of work at all times, as well as helping other homes within the HC-One family.

Last but not least, Marie Shillaw, Home Manager at Jack Dormand Care Home, has been shortlisted for the Lifetime Achievement in Care category. The shortlisting is well deserved as Marie has over 30 years’ experience in care and goes above and beyond to ensure Residents and Relatives experience the kindest care. Her passion for kind care as well as strong leadership skills helped Jack Dormand gain an ‘Outstanding’ CQC rating.

Sir David Behan, Non-Executive Director of HC-One and incoming Chairman, said:

“I’m hugely proud of all four shortlisted Colleagues and that HC-One has been recognised for having outstanding talent across the whole company. The fact that they have been acknowledged in this way by the prestigious National Care Awards highlights that HC-One is succeeding in its mission to be the first choice care provider in all the communities we serve, as well as the number one employer in the sector.”

The distinguished Awards Presentation Dinner will take place on the 29th November 2019 at the Hilton London Metropole.
