HC-One wins prestigious learning and development award at Skills for Care Accolades
The HC-One People Development Team has won the prestigious Skills for Care Accolade for ‘Best endorsed provider of learning and development’.

Skills for Care, an independent workforce development charity that partners with the Department of Health and Social Care, praised the country’s largest provider for the exceptional development opportunities offered to colleagues across the UK. The charity was impressed by the range of programmes HC-One has available for staff to engage in, such as the Nursing Assistant Programme.

Commenting on their reason for choosing HC-One as the winner, judges at Skills for Care said:

“Their learning culture encourages staff to take the time to attend training and is supported by impressive evaluations and good feedback from learners, residents and relatives. People who use their services are involved in scoping the programmes and they validate their learning offer with external partners.”

This Skills for Care Accolade highlights HC-One’s commitment to developing its workforce and ensuring there are opportunities for all. HC-One has been developing bespoke training programmes ever since the company’s creation in 2011, and in that time has gained recognition as delivering ‘best practice in-house development programmes and opportunities’ for those who work with them to deliver the kindest care. HC-One has also been recognised by Skills for Care as a ‘Centre of Excellence’ for staff development programmes.

Alison Innes-Farquhar, HC-One’s Director of People Development & Engagement, said:

“We are thrilled to have been recognised for our hard work in developing our staff teams through a range of development opportunities. As one of the essential pillars on which a strong and sustainable service is built, we are able to attract and develop the best people in our homes who can provide the kindest care to all our residents.

“Gaining this award is a wonderful recognition for the team. We hope this will encourage more people to work in the care sector as people can achieve extraordinary things when they take the learning opportunities offered to them to build a long term career in care.”
