Proud to be in the UK's Top 20 highest-rated care home groups in 2026
HC-One’s pride success as company proudly sponsors and celebrates Darlington PrideHC-One were proud to be a main sponsor at Darlington Pride, organised by Darlington Borough Council, which took place from the 8th – 14th August 2022, to show their support for the LGBTQIA+ community. Colleagues from HC-One and the local community came together to mark the weeklong celebration with the main events taking place over the weekend.  

HC-One were honoured to sponsor and celebrate pride in Darlington for the first time this year, in order to champion equality, understanding, respect and inclusivity for all. Over 40 HC-One Colleagues from across the organisation joined together to celebrate Darlington Pride, showing their support and got involved in the events that took place across the week. 

The main festivities included a Pride Festival on Saturday 13th August where there was a Pride March through the Market Square on to High Row, Bondgate, Skinnergate and Blackwellgate, as well as live music, food and drink, tribute acts, information stalls, dance performances, kid’s activities, street theatre and much more. There was also a relaxed family friendly Pride Picnic in the South Park on Sunday 14th August which included a Pride Picnic and Rainbow Trail for families as well as relaxed entertainment, acoustic music, a drag story tent, games, bubbles and other kid’s activities.

As one of Darlington’s biggest employers, it’s important to us as an organisation to show support of the LGBTQIA+ community and promote inclusivity and diversity, show solidarity and friendship to each other as a promise that both Residents and Colleagues can be who they are at work and in our care homes, and express who they are without fear.

“As the Kind Care Company, it is our mission to provide the kindest support and care to Residents living in our care homes, as we strive to be the first-choice care provider in each of the communities that we serve. We were proud to support Darlington Pride and the work that Darlington Borough Council carries out to help support older people living in our local community.”
