Two HC-One Colleagues from HC-One’s Altham Court Care Home in Lincoln, Lincolnshire, have been shortlisted as finalists by the judging panel at the 2022 Lincolnshire Care Awards.
The highly esteemed awards recognise those individuals who have worked hard to deliver the best industry practice, leadership, innovation, adaptability, dedication and shown the kindest and best quality of care to Residents, Relatives and Colleagues. The finalists have been selected due to demonstrating that they go above and beyond their duties to deliver excellence in social care.
HC-One’s finalists for the 2022 Lincolnshire Care Awards are:
• Dawn Bridge, Nursing Assistant at Altham Court Care Home, finalist in the Social Care Nurse and Nurse Associate Award Category
Dawn has worked in her role as a Nursing Assistant for three years and she has truly embraced the role. She has worked her way up from being a Senior Carer and worked hard to complete the extra training whilst still working. Since becoming a Nursing Assistant, Dawn can confidently organise and run shifts whilst assisting Nurses. Dawn ensures that Colleagues working at the home are supported which helps lead to positive outcomes for Residents.
• Beverly Wilkinson, Housekeeping Assistant at Altham Court Care Home, finalist in the Rising Star Award Category
Beverly started working at Altham Court Care Home as part of the Housekeeping Team in 2021 following a long career in catering. Beverly has fitted well into the team at the home, she is not afraid to join in and have a laugh with the Residents and Colleagues. Beverly will often join in with the Sunday morning coffee mornings at the home, demonstrating an understanding of individuals abilities and encouraging everyone to participate. In July 2022, Beverly made the decision to train to work as a Carer in her own personal time. Beverly now works at the home one day a week as a Carer, drawing on her own personal life experiences to care for others and supports new Colleagues in their roles as a Carer.
Anna Livsey, Home Manager at Altham Court Care Home who nominated both Dawn and Beverly for the awards, commented:

Being selected as finalists at these awards is a huge honour and recognises the dedication, talent, achievements and outstanding accomplishments of Dawn and Beverly.”
There are 12 different award categories at the 2022 Lincolnshire Care Awards which are hosted by the Lincolnshire Care Association. The award winners will be announced at a Gala Award Evening on Thursday 30th March 2023 at The Doubletree by Hilton, in Lincoln.
