We are delighted to share that Vickie Longstaff, Head of Infection Prevention and Control, has been shortlisted for The Social Care Research Award at the upcoming Social Care Leadership Awards 2025.
This new award, introduced for the first time this year, recognises an outstanding nurse-led research initiative that demonstrates passion, dedication and expertise in advancing evidence-based practice. It celebrates professionals who promote and lead research that benefits people receiving and delivering social care.
Vickie has been recognised for her exceptional contribution to embedding the VIVALDI Social Care research programme across HC-One’s care homes and teams. The programme, supported by the National Institute for Health and Care Research (NIHR), focuses on improving outcomes for people living and working in care homes through collaboration, innovation and evidence-led learning.
The VIVALDI Social Care team acknowledged Vickie’s leadership, alongside fellow finalist Lianne Ford from Exemplar Health Care, for their work championing research and strengthening understanding across the social care sector.
“We’re thrilled to see research on the agenda for the very first time at the Social Care Leadership Awards,” the VIVALDI Social Care team shared.
“Vickie has worked tirelessly to embed research and the VIVALDI programme across her organisation, care homes, and teams — a true example of dedication and impact.”
The Social Care Leadership Awards 2025, sponsored by the NIHR, will take place in London on 21st October 2025, bringing together leaders and innovators who are shaping the future of social care.
Vickie’s shortlisting reflects HC-One’s ongoing commitment to using research and data to continually enhance the quality of care, safety and wellbeing in its homes.
Congratulations to Vickie on this well-deserved recognition – the HC-One team wishes her every success at the awards ceremony later this month.
