50th wedding anniversary celebrations at Chelmsford care homeCelebrations were had at HC-One’s Admirals Reach care home as Residents Colin and Rose Beck enjoyed their 50th wedding anniversary together with fellow Residents.

Married in 1971, Colin and Rose first met at a live music event – Colin’s best friend was playing in a band, so he attended in support of his friend. Little did Colin know, the love of his life would also attend the event, and as soon as he saw her, he asked her to dance with her.

Rose had attended the event with fellow nurses, as she was a nurse at Brentwood Hospital, before moving onto Broomfield later in her career. From 1967, she spent her entire working life as a nurse, up until she reached retirement age. Colin had a lengthy career in advertising, first in London, before moving on to Kent, as well as having worked with the infamous Robert Maxwell for over 20 years.

The couple share two daughters together, as well as one granddaughter and remark their secret to a long marriage as being “love, patience and understanding.”

Colin and Rose were gifted with a beautiful bouquet of flowers, as well as a celebratory balloon, bottle of prosecco and a home-made buffet which was provided for them and their Relatives to enjoy.

The couple commented: “We have had the best day, we have really enjoyed being with our family to celebrate!”
