A 103rd birthday fit for a queen at Falstone CourtResidents at Falstone Court, residential dementia care home, in Sunderland has recently celebrated one special ladies’ birthday.

Ella a Resident at Falstone Court, had just celebrated her 103rd birthday, alongside her son Ashley.

Ashley spent the day with Ella, reading through all of her cards and celebrating such  a special, milestone birthday.

Children from the local primary school, Redby Academy School paid a visit to the care home to gift Ella flowers and a lovely cake so celebrate such a special birthday. The children stood outside, and they all sang Happy Birthday!

Ella received over 170 birthday cards (see pictured) from many people in the local community including children from another local school, Marsden Primary School. 

Staff and other Residents made Ella’s day extra special. The Residents had a great time celebrating Ella’s birthday and Joan, a Resident, commented, “She looks great for 103!” Glynis, another Resident, said, “Look at all those cards.”

Ella, remarked, “I have had a wonderful time and doesn’t time fly by.”

Julie Merritt, Care Home Manager, commented, “Ella had such a lovely day, a birthday fit for a queen.”
