A Christmas Carol overjoys Romford ResidentsAt Chaseview care home, in Essex, they have been very busy with all their Christmas and New Year celebrations lately.

One thing that was truly amazing this year, was when, Carol, a daughter of one of the Residents set up collecting Christmas presents for every single Resident at the home, which made it, “Ten times better” according to Kim Casselden, Senior Wellbeing and Activities Coordinator.

With the help of family, Colleagues and friends, Carol kindly collected over one hundred gifts. The presents were dropped off two weeks before Christmas, all wrapped up with either male or female tags on them, to make sure that the correct presents went to the correct people. Also, there were hand written Christmas cards for every Resident. To top it all off, four hampers filled with toiletries and goodies were handmade and donated too ad well as a special gift bag for Residents without Relatives or friends.

The home used the hampers for free raffles at the Christmas parties.

Kim went on, “Carol went the extra mile for our Residents this year and made it more special for everyone. She never left any stone unturned and also included gifts for all Colleagues on the unit where her mother resides. She truly was our ‘Christmas Carol’, what an amazing lady”

“Thank you will all my heart Carol and well done!”
