It’s been a very busy few days at
Avon Court care home, in Chippenham, Wiltshire, with so many activities for Residents to get involved in.
The wellbeing team organised for some arts and crafts sessions, as well as the regular bingo games, which is a firm favourite for Residents at the 56-bed residential, nursing and nursing dementia care.
Another highlight of the week was the booking of a live singer called Sharon, who once appeared on the TV show ‘The Voice’. Residents loved dancing, joining in with the singing and tapping their feet.
Mari Wood, 98, and Queenie Ainger,106, both agreed it has been a fantastic week. Queenie said, “What great fun we have had, I’ve enjoyed all of it.”
Other Residents who joined in with the activity sessions are John Taylor, Daphne Leonard, Joyce Dunbabin and Ken Price.
Linda Neate, Wellbeing Coordinator, said, “I felt inspired to share our activities this week, due to some of our older Residents, who don’t always get involved, joining in, and having fun. It proves that you are never too old to have fun.”
“We are all very proud of our Residents. We were even joined at one point by some of HC-One’s new recruits from another home who were doing an induction. So it was nice for them to see all the brilliant things that happen in a HC-One care home.”
