A gardening club flourishes at County Durham care homeResidents and Colleagues are enjoyed planting the seeds to grow a new gardening club over at HC-One’s St Clare’s Court care home in Newton Aycliffe.
They have already planted seeds to grow lettuce, tomatoes, cucumbers and strawberries. Residents are looking forward to seeing their plants grow and are hoping to have some fresh fruit and vegetables to pick in the summer.
One Resident commented: “I’m looking forward to taking care of my own plants. Watering them and watching them grow is going to be very interesting.”
Residents have put their planters on the window sills in their bedrooms so that they can catch plenty of sunlight and Residents can see them grow and flourish. They can’t wait to have some delicious fresh produce to taste test in the summertime.
