A magical Resident moves into Orchard Mews care homeA Resident, who has had a very magical career, has recently moved into Orchard Mews, residential, nursing and dementia care home, in Newcastle Upon Tyne.

Maurice Lennox has recently moved into Orchard Mews and has shared his love of magic with everyone. 

Maurice became interested in magic at a very young age and at 21 years old applied to join the Newcastle Magic Circle, having a formal audition and became a member straight away. 

During the 1960's Maurice won the Magic Circle annual competition 3 times! 

In 1965 Maurice was elected to the committee of the Newcastle Magic Circle and became friends with a member of the Middlesbrough Magic Circle, Paul Daniels. 

Maurice and Paul became firm friends, often meeting up to share and learn various magic tricks. 

In 2000 Maurice was elected President of Newcastle Magic Circle and he stayed in the role until 2015.

During his career Maurice performed hundreds of shows to children throughout the North East. He remains a much-respected member.

Maurice loved telling everyone about his career, he remarked, “I can’t share any secrets with you mind!”

Nicola Mould, Care Home Manager, added, “Seeing Maurice's face light up as he was sharing his history was beautiful.”
