A night of remembrance at Branston CourtOn 9th December, Residents and Colleagues at Branston Court nursing and nursing dementia care home, in Burton on Trent, to remember lives lost during recent times.

At the beginning of the evening, all Colleagues and Residents came together to sing ‘When you Walk Through the Storm’. This was followed by an introductory speech from the Home Manager, Pauline Gardiner.

Colleagues and Residents sang various Christmas carols to remember loved ones that have been lost in recent times, particularly during the pandemic.

The home’s Deputy Manager then recited a Christmas poem which followed one minutes silence. Then some people hung a glass bauble on the home’s tree, each individually containing a white feather engraved with the name of the people that have been lost.

It was a very emotional evening but was lovely that everyone got together to remember.

One Resident said, “The night was emotional and makes you realise how lucky you are to be here.”

Pauline added, “A truly inspirational evening.”
