A trip back in time for Consett care home ResidentsBeamish is a favourite place for Residents at Greenways Court care home, in Consett so a trip there for some of the Residents is the perfect day out!

Residents of the 51-bed residential and residential dementia couldn’t believe that they have had our Beamish Passes over a year, so they thought it would be perfect to use them one last time before they expired.

The visit started with a trip to Orchard Cottage, and Wellbeing Colleagues managed to get two trips of Residents in the same day thanks to having the bus for a little bit longer. The first trip was with Residents from Grace community, with the second being Residents on the ground floor.

Residents really enjoyed their trip and even had a little sing along on their way to and from Beamish. Catherine, a Resident at Greenways Court used to be in the Land Army, which prompted her to be invited back when they have their general change around. Catherine is over the moon to come back to be the special guest!

Kinga Kowaliczek, Care Home Manager, remarked, “The Residents really enjoyed their day out as they love going to Beamish, it was a great day!”
