A wild day at Knowsley Safari Park for Ashton-under-Lyne ResidentsIt was a wild day for Residents at Daisy Nook House care home, which offers residential and residential memory care in Ashton-under-Lyne, as a group went out on the bus to Knowsley Safari Park.

Daisy Nook House Residents Barbara, Marie and Mary (pictured) were over the moon when they went out on a trip to Knowsley safari park with manager Tracey Denton and Wellbeing coordinator Lindsey Chalmers.

After a walk around the park looking at the animals, everyone enjoyed a picnic dinner in the sunshine before they got on the bus to go through the drive-through animal park.

Mary laughed at the monkeys as they jumped on the bus. She shouted “They are on the roof! Naughty monkeys!”

Marie said that one had a cheeky face and she had seen it before.

Barbara commented, "I’ve had a lovely day. I could sit here and watch them all day long.”

Lindsey reflected on the day out, “It was lovely to get the Residents back out. We had the best weather. And the excitement on the Residents’ faces when they saw the animals was amazing to watch!”
