Activities at Dukinfield care home this JulyThis July at the Beeches residential care home, in Dukinfield, Residents and Colleagues have been very busy with events, activities and just having a jolly good time.

The home started at the month celebrating Care Home Open Day, where Residents enjoyed entertainment from local singer Deborah, from ‘Musical Delights’. Everyone enjoyed her singing some of their favourite songs; Residents tapped their feet, danced and joined in as backing singers.

As part of the day, Colleague Julie held a beauty stall, where Residents enjoyed browsing and buying some toiletries and gifts from.

There was also a tombola with all monies raised going towards the Residents comfort fund.

Following on, July also marked Resident Jean’s 90th birthday, with a party thrown for her by Colleagues with her friends at the Beeches. This time with entertainment from popular entertainer Samantha Jones, who sang her songs from the 50’s 60’s and 70s. Everyone involved had a lovely time and said that it was so nice to celebrate special birthdays with everyone.

And that’s not all, later in the month Residents enjoyed a church service from the local St John’s church, enjoying a short service with hymns and prayers. This is an important part of life for many of the Residents, and they have such joy in taking part.

Recently the home’s hairdresser Natalie got married and Residents enjoyed hearing all about her special day and looking through her wedding photos which she kindly brought in for everyone to see. This sparked some great conversation points between everyone, and lots of reminiscing about family weddings in the past.

And not forgetting the beautiful sunshine the UK has been having, with Residents at the Beeches taking full advantage and soaking up the heat with days sat outside in the garden.

Sade Smith, Wellbeing Coordinator, commented, “It’s been a busy, fun month at the Beeches, and everyone has enjoyed themselves!”
