Branston Court residential home in Burton-on-Trent, which offers nursing and nursing dementia care, welcomed a new Resident this week by arranging an evening of bingo, aimed at helping him settle in and get to know the other Residents.
Everyone who got involved thoroughly enjoyed the afternoon’s entertainment which took place in the home’s Trent Lounge.
New Resident Geoffrey, had been feeling slightly under the weather after having surgery and moving into Branston Court, so he used bingo for some ‘time for fun’, that’s number 41!
Geoffrey said: “It was really lovely to spend time all together. I thoroughly enjoyed getting to know the other Residents and playing a good game of bingo together.”
He continued: “Being able to play a game took my mind off not feeling great, and was a great way to break the ice.”
Pauline, the Home Manager at Branston Court said: “It is often one day at a time for new Residents as they find their feet in their new home. But as Geoff continues to spend more time with the Residents and participate in activities, he will become more settled and feel right at home.”
