One wonderful Resident at The Harefield care home, Anne Holland, hit 83 years today and everyone celebrated in style.
On this beautiful summer afternoon, Anne was received by her husband George and her daughter Joanne, all while following the PPE and newly-amended visiting policies. Colleagues arranged for Anne to have a visit in the newly-constructed gazebo, where she was given lots of presents and cards. She video-called with all her family, ate cake and had a lovely time.
Afterwards, she retired to the lounge where she ate another birthday cake, generously prepared by the kitchen staff. The team sang her 'happy birthday' and everyone had a sing and dance to some music. It was a lovely way to conclude a fantastic day.
Relative George was thoroughly grateful that staff were able to arrange a celebration like this. He said that it made his day being able to spend Anne's birthday with her.
Anne adored being reunited with her family after such a long time apart. She also commented that the cake was delicious. Anne loved being in the sunshine and being back with her family for the afternoon.
Home Manager, Mary Nadeem, declared it to be a wonderful way to celebrate Anne Holland's birthday.
