This month at
April Park in Eckington, Residents have been getting involved in a range of activities and celebrating some birthdays and world events.
At the beginning of the month Residents came together in the outside area to celebrate Jenny’s birthday, a Resident at April Park. The party was a beach theme and everybody had their bright colours on and sat out in the sun. Jenny enjoyed the day and being out in the sunshine, she went on to say, “I do like to be by the sea”.
Later on in August some Residents wanted to do some baking and make some pretty fairy cakes. One Resident wanted to make vanilla and lemon whilst other decorated theirs blue. One of the Residents who took part said they smelled wonderful when baking, whilst another said, “I love this, it reminds me of being on holiday”. Many of the Residents said they enjoyed pouring the sprinkles on the cakes after they had been baked.
World photo came about on the 19
th and Residents wanted to do something fun. They all had a go at trying on various filters through a photo app on the homes smart phone, which created some absolutely hilarious photos. Residents were in stiches at seeing some of the crazy filters applied and had some of them sent to their Relatives.
Colleagues at April Park mentioned how lovely it was seeing the Residents getting involved with the photo filters and how much they enjoyed it.
