Residents at
Park House, residential and residential dementia care home, in Guisborough, were delighted to celebrate Armed Forces Day 2022.
On Saturday 25th June, Residents and staff celebrated Armed Forces Day. Armed Forces Day is a chance to show support the men and women who make up the Armed Forces community and serve for our country.
We had done a lovely display on the run up to the event, which included lots of decorations and memorabilia. Residents really enjoyed seeing it.
Saturday was the most wonderful afternoon with the One Voice Choir, a favourite of our residents. There was a really good range of patriotic songs and a good old wartime singalong. The Residents were joining in singing and waving their flags.
After the concert, tribute was paid to people serving in the armed forces past and present and we raised a toast to all who have served.
The residents and choir enjoyed Armed Forces Day cupcakes and strawberries and cream.
One Resident, commented, “Celebrating Armed Forces Day is the right thing to do.”
Julie Woods, Care Home Manager, said, “A poignant and uplifting celebration, for all the Residents to enjoy.”
