Residents at
Ashington Grange, residential, nursing and dementia care home in Ashington, Northumberland, were extremely excited to celebrate the Platinum Jubilee.
On the 2nd of June, Residents got together for a fun filled day of Jubilee themed celebrations. Some of the Residents opted to wear a crown which made them feel like royalty.
Activities during the day included watching the Trooping of the Colour, face painting which the Residents loved and a game of royal bingo!
A huge buffet dinner was provided by the kitchen staff Angela and Sandra. There was a vast array of foods which included pies, sandwiches, quiche, sausage rolls and lots of delicious desserts. The Residents were thrilled with the variety of food to choose from, they enjoyed everything!
To top off a fantastic day, the Residents had a sing-a-long to some classic musicals. Music was played from The Sound of Music, Annie and the King and I!
Everyone involved had such a fantastic day celebrating such a fantastic achievement for Queen Elizabeth II. One Resident commented, “I have felt like the Queen myself today!”
Andrea Pringle, Care Home Manager, remarked, “It was such a fantastic day and the Residents had so much fun.”
