Avalon Park care home in Salem, Oldham is due to benefit from an exciting refurbishment and upgrade resulting from a major investment programme launched by owners HC-One.
Residents of the 60-bed, friendly purpose-built care home will be able to enjoy modernised and enhanced living environments – including a transformed entrance area, modernised communal areas, dining areas, and bathing facilities, and new flooring, fixtures and fittings throughout the home.
Residents, their loved ones, and Avalon Park’s care teams will also be able to come together to enjoy activities and social engagements in the new break out room which is being developed as part of the home’s transformation.
The residential dementia and nursing dementia care home refurbishment is part of HC-One’s £54.5 million refurbishment and upgrade programme. This programme will benefit 216 HC-One homes, including Avalon Park, and forms part of HC-One’s mission to be the UK’s first choice care provider in the communities it serves.
As the largest care home refurbishment programme in the UK, HC-One is transforming its homes for the benefit of the Residents and Colleagues who live and work in them, and for the local communities they serve. The upgrades will mean that every HC-One home will be equipped to meet the needs of an ageing population with increasingly complex care needs – including dementia care needs.
The works at Avalon Park are set to be completed in April 2022 – no Residents will be impacted by the ongoing works.
Jo Ashcroft, HC-One’s Area Director said:
“We are committed to fostering an environment that really feels like home, and décor and facilities are an important part of this. We’re really excited about the plans for Avalon Park Care Home and for the work to get safely underway. We look forward to seeing the end result, and when it is safe to do so, welcoming more visitors to see our new look.”
