Bastille Day celebrations at Leeds care homeHC-One’s Colton Lodges care home in Colton, Leeds was transformed in to a beautiful French bistro for the home’s Bastille Day celebrations on Wednesday 14th July.

To celebrate Bastille Day, the team at Colton Lodges decorated the lounge with a delicious spread of French cuisine, including cheeses, bread, wine, port and beer. Residents gathered as traditional French music played and they were greeted by team member, Lois, who acted as the waiter for the afternoon.

Bastille Day is the common name given to the national day of France which marks the fall of Bastille, a military fortress and prison, on July 14th 1789 signalling the beginning of the French Revolution.

A great time was had by all, with Residents commenting that they felt like they were really in France for the day.
Colton Lodges Home Manager, Danielle Longthorn said: “I am pleased everyone enjoyed our Bastille Day celebrations, the smiles on their faces really said it all.”
