At HC-One’s
Swallownest residential and nursing care home, in Sheffield, Residents have been making beautiful pictures from buttons.
After the home reached out to friends, Colleagues, Relatives and people in the community, asking for donations of buttons, they went into an activity with a lovely selection of buttons to choose from to create two simply stunning pictures.
Staff and Residents started by sorting the buttons into different colours and sizes, the home’s Wellbeing Coordinator said, “We enjoyed looking at the colours and shapes of all the buttons.”
Then everyone involved got creative by making a hot air balloon and tree canvas from the colourful, little buttons. See pictured Edna Carnell and Chrissie Mozley, who both live at Swallownest, and thoroughly enjoyed taking part in the activity.
One of the Residents remarked, “I can’t believe I have made that picture, it’s beautiful!”
Edna added, “Will you send my daughter a picture please?”
Amanda Fields, Home Manager, said, “The Residents took great pride in these button pictures, and they look lovely displayed on our walls.”
