Birmingham care home celebrate VE DayResidents and Colleagues at HC-One’s Lyndon Hall in Birmingham celebrated VE Day with a selection of beautiful home-made food and a Great British party.

The homes kitchen team set to the great task of bulk baking some wonderful British themed fairy cakes, scones and sandwiches for a big afternoon tea. During this time, Colleagues decked the home with Union Jack buntings, balloons and handed out fancy dress items to Residents ready for the big celebration.

In the early afternoon, Residents gathered in the homes lounge area and celebrations began. Colleagues played some classic British war time songs such as We’ll Meet Again and Run Rabbit Run.

The Residents sang along and donned their Union Jack hats and waved their buntings with enjoyment. Later in the day, Colleagues played some educational videos on the TV to inform Residents about what happened in the run up to VE Day.

Located in a peaceful residential area in West Bromwich, Lyndon Hall is a purpose-built care home with 80 beds, offering nursing, residential memory and nursing memory care for those living with dementia.
