Bloxwich care home celebrate VE DayVictory In Europe Day was celebrated at HC-One’s Ash Grange care home in Bloxwich, with a war time menu for the day where the Residents has the option to choose some classic war time foods. 

For Breakfast the residents enjoyed having the option to have dripping on toast, spam egg and beans or a choice of cereals. For lunch the Residents enjoyed mushroom soup for starters and for their main they were offered either corned beef hash or pork casserole and for their pudding they enjoyed some cake and custard.  

In the afternoon the Residents sat down and enjoyed a VE Day concert on the television where they were all full of smiles and enjoyed singing along to songs that won the war. Finally, to end the day of celebrations the Residents enjoyed a traditional British afternoon tea where classic sandwiches and snacks where served and they enjoyed a homemade scone with jam and cream made by our in-house chef.  

The Residents enjoyed coming together after lunch to watch the concert and remember the war together.
