A Resident at HC-One’s Larchwood care home, in Essex, turned 100 today and to mark the occasion, Colleagues went that extra step further for Winifred Woodham.
Colleagues decorated Winifred’s room with balloons and birthday banners, and she was showered with gifts from Relatives, Colleagues and fellow Residents at the home; including a gift sets, some of her favourite flowers, perfume, chocolates and a selection of beautiful cards. Winifred’s favourite thing is fresh flowers so she was over the moon with the beautiful arrangement sent to her.
The Head Chef made Winifred a birthday cake, pictured, which the team presented her to her while singing ‘Happy Birthday’.
But to top off the day, was the birthday card sent by none other than the Queen herself, much to Winifred’s delight who thoroughly enjoyed the whole day being well and truly spoilt. She remarked that all the staff made her day special and that she loved her cake and card from the Queen.
Home Manager, Jade Leigh Smith, commented, “Winifred celebrated her 100th birthday exactly how she wanted to and it was lovely to see how much she enjoyed her day.”
