Residents at HC-One’s
Larchwood care home in Braintree requested to have an area in the homes garden dedicated to helping Residents take part in their own gardening.
The home has a beautiful garden where Residents can relax, play games or catch up but Residents thought it would be a good idea to have an area dedicated to gardening, planting pots, tending to flowers and bushes and a station where they could clean up dead leaves and even plant their own crops.
In another area of the garden there was a high bed planter, which Colleagues moved to the main area to help create their new gardening station.
Resident Robert loves his gardening and was over the moon when he found out about the new area that is being made. Himself and Resident Ann were planning on which plants they can plant next time they get to go outside.
Nestled away in a quiet, rural location just outside Braintree in Essex, Larchwood is a friendly, purpose-built care home with 64 beds, offering residential dementia care.
