Burns Night celebrations at Dundee care homeResidents and Colleagues have had a fun day celebrating the life of Robert Burns at HC-One’s Balcarres care home in Broughty Ferry.

Everyone enjoyed a traditional Burns lunch of haggis, neeps and tatties, washed down with the choice of whisky, sherry or a non-alcoholic beverage.

Ernie, a Resident at the home, enjoyed his day dedicated to all things Scotland. He said “I love this. I love anything Scottish.”

Residents spent the rest of their afternoon listening to Scottish bagpipe music while Home Manager, Lynn McLean, entertained everyone with her Highland dancing, much to the surprise and amusement of Residents and Colleagues.

After an entertaining afternoon, Residents settled down in their rooms with some traditional Scottish treats and drinks to snack on.

A carer at Balcarres commented: “I love seeing how much the Residents enjoy themselves!”
