Burns Night celebrations at Market Lavington care homeResidents at HC-One’s Market Lavington care home in Wiltshire celebrated Burns Night this year with traditional Scottish food and plenty of singing.

Residents enjoyed learning about Robert Burns and listening to his poetry as they laughed at Colleagues trying to emulate a thick Scottish dialect.

One Resident commented: “I didn’t know much about Robert Burns. It was very interesting.”

The kitchen team cooked the traditional haggis, neeps and tatties and Residents were served in the dining room, beautifully decorated with Scottish bunting and posters.

Wellbeing Coordinator, recited The Address to Haggis before Residents tucked into their delicious meal. Afterwards everyone danced and sang along to Auld Lang Syne.

Another Resident at Market Lavington said: “The haggis was lovely! And I love singing Auld Lang Syne.”

The Residents and Colleagues enjoyed their traditional Burns Night, a wonderful start to this year’s many celebrations.
