Burns Night haggis-tasting at Tameside care homeResidents enjoyed an evening of dancing, quizzes and plenty of food and drink yesterday to celebrate Burns Night at HC-One’s Yew Trees care home in Dukinfield, Greater Manchester.

Residents tasted a selection of traditional Scottish food, including haggis, biscuits and a variety of jam.

While some Residents were unsure about the acquired taste of haggis, they certainly enjoyed a drop or two of whisky to wash it down.

After a couple of whiskys, some Residents were ready to dance and showed off their moves to Scottish pipe music before settling down with Robbert Burns-themed quizzes, word searches and adult colouring.

A Colleague at Yew Trees commented: “We have enjoyed the spirit of Burns Night.

“Some Residents weren’t sure about the haggis but they liked the whisky.”
