Caerphilly care home win regional award with inspiration from Van GoghPeople living at Abermill care home, in Abertridwr, entered the National Day of Arts Competition this month and were over the moon to have won the regional award for their Van Gogh art!

Recently, it was suggested by Sarah from the company ‘Creative Mojo’ who comes to Abermill regularly to do arts and crafts that the home should enter into the National Day of Arts Competition.

Wellbeing Coordinator Debbie and Sarah then helped the Residents to take part in the arts and crafts competition, with a Van Gogh style theme.

And what wonderful creations the home made (see pictured the artwork).

One of the Residents who took part said, “I would like it displayed where I can see it every day its lovely.”

And the great news is the home then won the regional award for the fantastic piece of art and has now been entered into the national awards!

Another Resident said, “I can't believe we won.”

Everyone at the home was thrilled that they won the competition!

Christine Tipper, Care Home Manager, commented, “I am so proud of the people who helped create such a lovely piece, it will be displayed in the home with pride along with the certificates.”

“Thank you to Sarah for entering us into the competition and good luck for the national final.”
