Cambridgeshire care home host garden games for ResidentsThe Cambridge care home in Chesterton, which provides residential, nursing and nursing dementia care, have held some games in the gardens for Residents to enjoy with the fantastic weather we have had this month.
 
A mini obstacle course was setup in the garden and Residents were split into two teams, which each being led by a member of staff. Each Resident made their way through each challenge, throwing, tossing, and racing with 6 Residents involved in total.
 
There was giant connect four along with Quoits throwing and tennis ball darts. Daphne and Anne, two Residents who were involved became very competitive during the course and each team was very encouraging towards each other. Once the course had been completed, Residents finished the afternoon with some fresh lemonade and listening to classical music.
 
Colleague who helped take part in the day commented on how lovely it was to see the Residents I the garden enjoying themselves, whilst also being competitive. Residents also mentioned how they enjoyed the event and being part of a team, Daphne, one of the Residents went on to say, “That was really exciting and different, I love being in the garden”.
 
Farai, the Home Manager commented, “Its so wonderful seeing the Residents enjoying group activities together”.
