Christmas at
Brooklands care home, in Grimsby, which offers residential, nursing and memory care, for those living with dementia, as well as care for young people with physical disabilities, was enjoyed by Residents who took part in all sorts of exciting activities.
Colleagues put on a group to get together and decorate Christmas biscuits and make Relatives’ keyrings and baubles for their own trees. This was followed by a Christmas service where those involved were singing carols and hymns.
This sparked a lot of great chats among Residents about family Christmases and how presents have changed over the years.
Colleagues dressed up as elves and sang to Residents, much to their amusements. Plus, Mr and Mrs Christmas made a surprise appearance and were delivering presents to everyone.
On the big day, Residents enjoyed a Christmas lunch and a Christmas party at teatime with music, dancing and a tipple of Baileys, brandy or wine.
Catherine Brooks, Care Home Manager, remarked, “Families were very thankful to staff for making Christmas a jolly time for their loved ones, and we loved making it special.”
