As part of the celebrations across HC-One care homes for Care Home Open Week 2022,
Hamewith Lodge care home in Aberdeen, had a fantastic open day for Residents and families to enjoy.
Home Manager, Diana Toneva and Wellbeing Coordinators, Colin Wooley and Eileen Grieve worked together to plan a very special day for all the Residents, families and members of the local community.
Friends and families of the Residents were invited along to spend some time with their loved ones whilst participating in lots of activities, having a tour of the home and learning about the life of the Residents at Hamewith Lodge.
Residents and Colleagues of the HC-One owned home enjoyed meeting MP for Aberdeen North, Kirsty Blackman and chatting to her about what life is like at Hamewith Lodge – which is an integral part of the local Aberdeen community.
The Residents were thrilled to meet a member of Parliament as they believed it is an integral to develop a relationship with those who represent them in the running of the country.
One Resident, Bella McArtney, was very pleased to be speaking with MP for Aberdeen North, Kirsty Blackman. Both of them had a really great chat. Bella turns 100 in October this year and has now seen 20 different Prime Ministers take office during her lifetime.
It was great for everyone to get together and celebrate Hamewith Lodge. Maureen Mitchell, a Resident who had lived in the home since the start of the pandemic commented, “It was great that I was able to speak with MP Kirsty Blackman and we could discuss things together.”
Diana Toneva, Care Home Manager, remarked, “We all had such a lovely day. The Residents had such a great time and so did the guests we had invited along. A great team effort!”
