Care home residents enjoy heartwarming community outing to Bedwas Workmen’s HallResidents at HC-One Wales’s Parklands Care Home, in Bedwas, Caerphilly, recently enjoyed a joyful and inclusive outing to the historic Bedwas Workmen’s Hall.

Driven by a passion to build stronger community ties, Parklands Wellbeing Coordinator Marie Evan reached out to the local venue following its installation of a new wheelchair-accessible lift, making its beautiful auditorium more inclusive than ever before.

The residents received a warm welcome with tea, biscuits, and a lively sing-along session that had everyone smiling. Marie took it upon herself took to lead the entertainment on the stage.

The uplifting event was further enriched by the presence of residents from two fellow HC-One Wales’s care homes, Church View and Quarry Hall. This created a memorable day of shared joy and connection.
Laughter, music, and even a bit of dancing filled the hall as residents and local community members came together in celebration.

Amy Campbell, HC-One Wales’s Parklands Care Home Manager, reflected on the experience:

“What a beautiful opportunity for our residents and the community to come together! One hour just wasn’t long enough...we could have stayed for hours!”
