Castletown care home Residents enjoy special room service treatsResidents have been looking forward to some special treats delivered direct to their bedroom by Colleagues at HC-One’s Northview Lodge care home in Castletown, Tyne and Wear.

Due to lockdown restrictions, Residents have been spending more time in their room than usual and have unfortunately been missing out on the little treats they would normally get.

Colleagues have come up with a solution and have started delivering the treats directly to the Residents’ bedrooms to cheer them up. Residents have enjoyed their own individual cheese platters or chocolate dipped sweet treats, served with a tipple of wine or a shandy for a nice afternoon snack.

Upon receiving their first special individual platter one Resident exclaimed: “Oh, what a delightful surprise! It’s nice to see some kind faces at the door giving me food.”

The simple idea has spread cheer throughout the home and returned the feeling of normality for many Residents during this difficult time.
Northview Lodge Home Manager, Patrick Morley, said: “A fantastic and inventive idea from the staff as they continue to provide a homely service.”
