Residents at
Foxton Court, residential and residential dementia care home, in Morpeth, were very excited to take a trip out to the local Sealife Centre.
As part of World Ocean Day, some of the Residents took a trip out to the local Sealife Centre is Tynemouth, North Shields.
Irene Gregan, Anne Bartlett, Kathleen Dixon, David Barron and Ann Stewart, were very keen to take the trip out.
The Sealife Centre is home to many different fish and sea creatures. There were even non sea creatures including tortoises. There were lots of do and sea at the aquarium and the Residents were excited to get everything done.
Kathleen was fascinated by the seals and enjoyed watching them diving in the water.
As the Residents used to live so close by to the aquarium, it brought back many memories of bringing their own children and grandchildren.
The Residents enjoyed seeing all the unusual and colourful fish. There was many of all different colours and sizes.
To finish off what was a fantastic day, the Residents had a picnic at St Mary’s Lighthouse, watching the sea and taking in all the views.
Irene, remarked, “It is such a wonderful place, I’ve had a fantastic time.”
Joanne Bulford, Care Home Manager, commented, “It was a great day out for the Residents, they absolutely loved it.”
