Pendleton Court care home, in Salford Manchester, recently held a service for Residents, Colleagues and Relatives to come together and celebrate the lives of past Residents who have been lost over the recent years.
Lesley Moore, Wellbeing Coordinator, invited the Relatives and friends of Residents at the 58-bed residential, nursing and residential dementia care home and also family members of Residents who have sadly been lost over the last couple of years.
Local Pianist, Barnaby, visited Pendleton Court for the service and played a wide range of music; some from the musical ‘Cats’. Residents were happily singing along to, and everyone loved hearing all the beautiful music Barnaby played for them
Father Daniel Burton, From St Thomas of Canterbury Church of England, visited the home and provided a wonderful service, where candles were lit for those lost.
Chef Elaine Lawson made some amazing cakes and got all the best China out, as well as a large selection of wine, Baileys and soft drinks to offer for the occasion.
Ray, who is the husband of one of the Residents, said. “It was a wonderful afternoon.”
Lesley commented, “It was very moving listening to Rose (Relative) as she lost her husband Roy during lockdown, and some of our families were unable to celebrate the life of our Residents due to the covid regulations at the time.”
Home Manager Kelly Myatt commented, “it was a special moment shared be all.”
Due to the success of the day, the home is now planning to make this an annual event.
