Residents enjoyed an evening of food, poetry and music yesterday for Burns Night at HC-One’s Daneside Court care home in Northwich.
They spent the afternoon reading Scottish poetry, singing traditional songs and even raised a glass to Robert Burns himself.
To end the evening, Residents celebrated with a classic meal – haggis, neeps and tatties – and a theatrical reading of Burns’ ‘Address to a Haggis’ by Activities Coordinator Sharon Lelonek.
Charon’s poetry was the perfect start to a traditional meal. The food and fun shared throughout the day made this year’s Burns Night one to remember for everybody.
Daneside Court Home Manager, Samantha Farahat, said: “So lovely to see the Residents engaging and celebrating the tradition of Burns Night.
“Sharon did a lovely reading. We were well and truly spoilt.”
