Cheshire care home Colleagues and Residents participate in spring COVID-19 booster vaccination rolloAt Overdene House Care Home, located in Winsford, Cheshire, which offers residential and nursing care to older people, on Wednesday 30th March, Residents and Colleagues were administered with their COVID-19 booster vaccination.

As part of the spring COVID-19 vaccination rollout, Colleagues stepped forward to be vaccinated to protect some of the most vulnerable members of society including those living at Overdene House and themselves, as a precautionary measure to reduce their and others risks of getting seriously ill and the risk of catching or spreading COVID-19.

A medical team from Remedi Pharmacy Solutions administered the vaccines to Colleagues and Residents. Residents were excited to receive their booster vaccinations and there was a lot of discussion amongst Residents and Colleagues about how quick, easy, and painless it was to get vaccinated to keep themselves and each other safe.

The home also welcomed a film crew from Granada TV and Sky News to attend to capture the vaccination rollout of Colleagues and Residents and interviewed them on the importance and their personal decisions about why they took the opportunity to get their spring COVID-19 booster vaccinations at Overdene House.

Catherine Burns, Home Manager at Overdene House Care Home remarked:

“We were delighted to welcome Remedi Pharmacy Solutions into Overdene House Care Home to administer the spring COVID-19 booster vaccinations. As a care home, we provide kind high quality of care and life to Residents living at Overdene House. It is our duty as carers to protect our Residents, ourselves, and the wider community against COVID-19.

“We have seen first-hand how much of a difference that being vaccinated makes in our response to COVID-19. By getting our COVID-19 booster vaccinations, we’ve helped to achieve this and keep each other safe!

“We are committed to doing everything we can to support the vaccination rollout which will help us to continue to offer safe visits at our home and bring together Residents with their loved ones.”

The vaccination rollout has already seen care home visiting restrictions being eased and care homes becoming more open, allowing Residents and their loved ones to spend quality time together once again.
