Christmas fun at Greenways Court care homeResidents at Greenways Court, residential and residential dementia care home in Consett, have been getting in the Christmas spirit taking part in lots of fun activities.

On the 17th of December, a Christmas Fayre was held at the care home.

Residents have been making some Christmas decorations and arts and crafts to sell, there was a tombola stall and a toy stall as well a cup game for the children.

One company comes along to the care home to sell their products and they give 10% back to go into the Residents fund. 

There is still have money to collect in from the stalls, but it looks to around the £450.00 was made for the Residents fund, to help them enjoy their outings and other activities throughout the year. 

Relatives have been so supportive again this year. The catering team where brilliant they made cakes, pies, scones, buns for us to sell, which were delicious.

Nora, a Resident, commented, “I was so happy to see people supporting our home.”

On the 19th of December, magic was spread around the care home by a fantastic magician. 

As the entertainment in the home is usually a singer it was decided that a magician would be something different. 

The Residents really enjoyed it and said they would love for him to come back soon. His tricks were fantastic and were so shocked at how he was doing them.

Taylor, one of the Residents who watched the show, said, “I really loved the magic show and would like to see it again.”

David, another Resident, added, “I could see how the tricks were being done but I really enjoyed it anyway.”

Kinga Kowaliczek, General Site Manager, added, “It has been a great lead up to Christmas and the Residents are feeling very festive.”
