Church service is back at Honiton care homeThe church service has returned to HC-One’s Gittisham Hill House residential, nursing and dementia care home, in Devon.

Lots of the Residents enjoyed the church service, which took place on 21st December, after a full risk assessment was organised to accommodate the lovely, local vicar to conduct a service for the afternoon.

It was such an important afternoon service for the Residents to enjoy, many of whom are very used to attending services prior to moving into the home.

Hymns were sung at high volume and a locally knitted nativity scene was enjoyed by Residents.

Afternoon refreshments included festive cakes, followed by a hat trying on session to add some well needed fun to the festivities!

Everyone particularly liked the wonderful nativity scene with one Resident commenting, “I think this is all wonderful!”

Julia Heneker, Care Home Manager, commented, “One of my most favourite afternoons, this was so long overdue as the vicar used to attend regularly.  I am so pleased we were able to plan this safely for all to enjoy.”
