Church visit for Uxbridge care home ResidentsThis week The Harefield in Middlesex, Residents have been attending the local church for their mid-week service.

Home Manager, Bex Axford, drove two Residents Frank and Tony to the mid-week service accompanied by Wellbeing Coordinator James and Senior Housekeeper Nimisha. They all went down to St. Mary’s Church in Harefield Village. The Residents joined in with the service, took Communion and said some prayers.

After the service everybody was invited to have a cup of tea with the vicar and congregation. Frank used to be a street preacher and Tony has been a man of God all his life and had much to discuss with the vicar. Tony also happened to meet up with an old friend John Spinks, which he mentioned was the highlight of his day. Frank went on to say how he was incredibly grateful to be able to attend church again and both said they were looking forward to their future outings.

James, Wellbeing Coordinator at The Harefield commented, “At The Harefield we are always keen to support our Residents religious beliefs. It was lovely to see Frank and Tony getting involved at the local church”. Bex also went on to say, “It was such a wonderful way to engage with the community, I’m glad they all enjoyed themselves”.
