Classic bingo turns musical for Market Lavington care home ResidentsThe Residents at Market Lavington care home, in Devizes, enjoyed a game of musical bingo this July and it sparked lots of reminiscing and great conversations among both Residents and Colleagues.

Wellbeing Coordinators Riaz and Michaela at the 80-bed residential, nursing and nursing dementia care home, led a group of Residents in the activity whereby a tune is played, and they have to guess what the song is. Then see if that song is on their ‘bingo board’.

Michaela described, “It’s a different version of classic bingo but a lot more fun!”

The Residents, including Dennis Scurrell, Gordon Grist, Susie Hilton, Phylliss Shellard, Stanley Thompson, Frank Anderson, Margaret Tomalin and Angela Wakeley, enjoyed trying to guess the song, most of them they guessed correctly, and even though there were no lyrics, Residents had no trouble remembering the words and singing along!

Some of the songs included classics like ‘Silent Night’, ‘Greensleeves’, and ‘We’ll Meet Again’.

Stanley commented, “Everyone should know this song, I used to dance to it with my wife.”

Fellow Resident Dennis joked, “Could I request a song so I can finish a line on my board?”

Michaela Swiffen, Wellbeing Coordinator, commented, “The Residents had a wonderful afternoon, doing something a little bit different, and having a sing along at the same time.”
