Community generosity on Tameside for Fir Trees care homeAt residential and residential memory care home, Fir Trees, in Dukinfield, a very generous donation was given from the local rotary club. 

On the national news this week, the amazing reaction care home Residents were having to “Fur Real Pets” was being discussed.  And at Fir Trees care home, they had a welcome surprise when the Tameside Rotary Club turned up with a “Fur Real Cat” as a gift.

Senior carer, Adam, (pictured right) accepted the gift on behalf of all the Residents at Fir Trees. 

Some very positive comments were welcomed, with one saying, “What a lovely surprise!”

Another Resident added, “It is so lovely and soft! It looks just like a real cat. We can't wait to give it a name!”

Nicole Gunning, Care Home Manager, remarked, “It was such a lovely surprise to receive this gift from the Rotary Club, we are going to have a vote on naming the cat.”
