Residents, families and members of the local community were transported on a vibrant cultural journey when Foley Grange Care Home in Kidderminster hosted a lively African drumming and textiles event.
The home’s cinema space was transformed into a hub of rhythm, colour and culture, as the sounds of traditional African drums filled the room and set the stage for an engaging afternoon celebrating African heritage.
Guests were treated to an energetic presentation that explored the history and significance of African drumming, with powerful rhythms creating an atmosphere that had attendees captivated from the start.
One of the highlights of the event was the hands-on exploration of beautiful African textiles. Visitors were invited to touch and feel a variety of fabrics, learning about the stories, patterns and traditions woven into each piece. The tactile experience, combined with the rhythmic drumming, created a powerful sensory journey that brought African culture to life.
Open to the wider community, the event welcomed people of all ages, bringing together residents, relatives and local families to celebrate music, craftsmanship and storytelling in a unique and memorable way.
