Community initiative is a success at Merthyr Tydfil care home

The Daffodils care home in Merthyr Tydfil was delighted to take part in a new community initiative to enhance wellbeing of those living with dementia. 

Each Monday, Residents at The Daffodils have joined fellow members of the community involved in the Gellideg Foundation, a charity that aims to bring different groups together in the local community.

The group hosts a number of exciting activities for Residents to get involved with, including craft sessions and tea dances. 

The most recent meet-up saw Residents catching up with their new friends as they took part in puzzles over a cup of tea and biscuits. 

Janine Marouf, Home Manager at The Daffodils, commented: “The staff that run the group are really accommodating and welcoming. We are very lucky to be part of the group and we really enjoy attending.”
